Smoke alarms save lives. At 12:36 p.m. this afternoon, Charlotte Fire crews were dispatched to a house fire in the 300 block of S. Clarkson Street. The first crew arrived within two minutes, and with the help of additional responding units, about 30 Charlotte firefighters, the fire was brought under control in 22 minutes.
